Welcome to the Free World BBS Project
About Freeworld BBS
The FreeWorld BBS is an attempt to create an easy to use, yet robust platform to run a BBS on under Unix. It's focus is around making the system similar to the old DOS based systems of the past while incorporating various networking featues in use today. The system is being designed so that it can be run as a stand alone 1 line dial-in system, or can be setup as a single unit of a network of systems spread out across the internet.
Currently the system is still in it's alpha stages but is coming along quickly. At this time though FreeWorld is not ready for regular use.

The main differences over 0.2.2 are the Python support in FWB Menu, the start of the message areas, working server based prompts and files, and documentation of the libray functions. There are plenty of other changes and bug fixes that have been made in the two months since 0.2.2 and you can view the ChangeLog file in the distro to see them.09/23/99

Just setup a test site here today. When connecting login as 'bbs'. You will then be placed at the bbs login. There isn't much there yet as I really haven't worked much on the menus but we will be adding to it as we get a chance. If you have any questions or comments about the system please send them to Darren Braun
